Ourooh is an Edinburgh shop of objects from independent makers and small studios, for giving and keeping. The shop currently buys from Japan, France and Belgium. I would like more of it to be made in Britain, and I am building that slowly rather than filling a page with it.

Ourooh buys wholesale and outright. No consignment, no sale or return, no commission arrangements.

What I look for

An object with a material, a method and a reason to exist. Something I can photograph once and have you understand it. Work that holds its own beside hand-painted Arita porcelain and letterpress printed in Brussels. Colour and character are welcome. Quiet is not a requirement.

What I do not stock

Prints and wall art. Wellness and self-care goods. Personalised or slogan products. Anything already carried by five other British shops. Anything I would need a paragraph to justify.

What to send

Where you work and how the object is made. Photographs, plain ones are fine. Wholesale price, minimum order, lead time and whether you can reorder. Whether I may use your photographs while I take my own.

What happens next

I read every email. I reply when there is a fit, and I am usually slow rather than quiet. If it is not right for the shop I will say so plainly, which I think is more useful than silence.
