Autumn leaves scattered as though they fell that way, one gold ginkgo at the centre with smaller reds and ochres turning around it. The cover carries its own title, Botanica, l’automne, set small and low.

Inside is cream, fine-grain paper for writing and drawing, with the binding thread left visible at the spine. A notebook to fill rather than keep pristine, though it will sit well on a desk while you decide where to begin.

Natural white paper cover, 285gsm, pigment-printed from a fresh-plant herbarium. 48 pages of fine-grain cream paper, 90gsm, for writing and drawing. Bound by hand.

About the maker
23janvier is the south-west France paper studio founded in 2013 by visual artist Marie-Charlotte. The atelier develops each piece from botanical study through printing and binding, with close attention to natural papers and plant form.
