Passport size, 12.5 by 8.8 cm, so it sits flat in a jacket pocket. Sixty pages of ivory writing paper with a faint 5 mm dot grid, thread bound so it opens flat and stays open. Yamamoto Paper have sold paper in Sakai, Osaka since 1972 and choose their stock for how a nib behaves on it. Pencil, ballpoint and fountain pen all sit well, though very wet inks are worth a test page first.
The waxed cover arrives smooth and does not stay that way. Creases hold and the edges darken, so after a few months of carrying it reads as yours rather than as stock. The wax has soaked into the paper in patches, which leaves the night sky uneven in a way no printer would allow, and the corners are rounded enough to curl in a pocket.
