Pressed and mounted by hand by 23janvier in south-west France, from plants gathered, dried and pressed over three to five weeks.
A single hydrangea floret, four petals pressed to the thinness of paper, with a fern frond laid beside it. The colour has settled into a pale lilac that fades towards cream at the centre, and the veining reads right through.
It sits small on a 10 cm square of thick cotton paper, with enough space around it that the plant is the only thing to look at. Stamped on the reverse with the 23fleurs mark, and no two alike. It arrives unframed in a protective folder, ready for a wall where it will be looked at closely.
