Two Japanese maple leaves, still green, joined at the stem with a single winged seed caught between them. Gathered before the turn rather than after it, so what you get is the shape of the leaf rather than the colour of the season.

The serrated edges are the pleasure here, and they come through the pressing intact. Each piece is named, individually different, and stamped on the reverse with the 23fleurs mark. It arrives unframed.

Real Japanese maple leaf, gathered in autumn, pressed for 3 to 5 weeks and mounted by hand on thick acid-free natural white paper. Protective paper folder included.

Care
Frame behind UV-resistant glass and keep out of direct sunlight. Plant colours will change gradually towards softer natural tones. Handle only by the paper edges with clean, dry hands.

About the maker
23janvier is the south-west France paper studio founded in 2013 by visual artist Marie-Charlotte. For the 23fleurs collection, seasonal plants are gathered, pressed for 3 to 5 weeks and mounted by hand.
